Introduction

The energy industry in Sardinia – an island in the South-West of Italy – has grown promising great wealth and prosperity, but in the past few years, this has led to the disappearance of a natural way of life, leaving people suspended, between past and future values.

For the island, it’s a peculiar situation of uncertainty, which would lead to radical changes in people’s lives; a passing phase in which tensions, reflections and life expectancy are concentrated.

‘Non ti scordar di me’ (meaning: ‘Don’t forget about me’) by Daniele Pasci it’s a story about love and pride, about suspension and fear; fear to change identity.

Interview

a. What program was used to create the multimedia?

I used Adobe Premiere.

b. How and why did you choose that sound/music?

I was looking for different sounds, nature sounds and a instrumental song to mix and create the right atmosphere. In this case, waves are perfect to give rhythm to my photographs and recreate the “island effect” and the music to produce the feeling of suspension.

c. Tell us about the editing process when you think of a multimedia.

It depends case by case, but I think the best thing to do is to have a clear idea of the final output.

Multimedia perfectly fits motion images and music, because sounds helps the specific atmosphere you want to create, adding new layers of reading the story.
